I wish I had the answer to that, actually, if I did, I would play the lottery. There are many things that affect site loading speed. Depends on how much of the framework you use, the way you write the code, etc. The way I structured the plugin though, it does not load anything unless its required.

Sorry for delay in responding. I don't think its possible to use Zend Framework as MVC with Wordpress because MVC looks for the controllers to run things, aka the frontController.

Well, this is not what this plugin does. This plugin takes the Zend Framework and utilizes it in a non MVC setup. I did add in the autoloader so you can call classes by name without having to require the class file first.

Essentially its the same thing, as your auth system, based on Zend_Auth, would in my opinion, be class as a Wordpress Plugin (call it WP_Zend_Auth) that extends the Zend_Auth. WP_Zend_Auth then would call the add_actions and such inside it to hook into wordpress. Since it extends Zend_Auth , you already have access then to all Zend_Auth methods.

Any general samples or tutorial on how to use MVC and Zend with Wordpress, I would like to override the whole User system of wordpress with my own Zend_auth based user systems, would somethign like that make sense?

My husband and I just read your post and we are happy to see someone else going the same time we are:-) We just received our carepack today and the airline tickets, check and hats were in the box. Not sure about the luggage if that is coming or not. We really do not care, just cannot wait till we get there. We are coming from Fort Worth, Texas, how about you?

Im Super excited about this trip. My brother won the trip and is taking me as his guest because his wife can't fly (pregnant). We leave Feb. 27th 2011. I signed up for all the activities. Once in a life time oppritunity so why not right. Great photos and information about your experience at the ranch. We actually missed the deadline when we first got the invitation. There was a delay in our mail and had to RSVP by October 5th 2010, we didnt get our invatation untill the 7th of October. But they worked with us and we are very greatful for that. Well I will soon have my trip and experience posted on here as well, Thank you again Brian.

Thanks for the post i jut won the trip and seems a couple things have changed. I am leaving on he 12th of feb 2011 i have recived my letters and all that you posted.(great information) the trip is now $4,569 with a $750 check they said that the tickets and check would arrive about jan 15th. Do they send all of the stuff to your house or what.....getting really happy about this trip.

Great intro to WP 3's new features. I'm building my first plugin and there's a lot of methods here that I should take advantage of as well. It's sweet how you don't have to create workarounds to get admin controls going.

Even if you load and activate the plugin, yet do not call any of the classes in any of your plugins, nothing except for the Zend Autoloader actually loads. It does not load the whole framework. The autoloader only loads what is needed when you call a class in your plugin. Even when you do call a class, it still only loads what is needed, and not the full framework. Performance hit should be almost negligible. I am using it for a Twitter Oauth and to respond to WP front end AJAX with json.
